Alright, it’s time.
We have accumulated SO many things.
I am now a mom of three. Like my blog entails, I AM a NONSTOP mom and this is my life. It’s busy, it’s fun, it’s wild, certainly chaotic at times, but also wonderful and full of joy.

I do have a frustration that needs addressed: I have to constantly clean all the time. I don’t mind cleaning the kitchen after we cook and eat, putting away laundry or the normal cleaning of rooms.
I’m talking about EVERYTHING ELSE. It feels like sometimes I am on a hamster wheel and I am really just putting the same things away, doing counters, pickup up toys, sweeping, mopping, EXCEPT a lot of the things do not have a place. I want my time back and my sanity back.
I want to spend time with the kids and my husband, I want to do hobbies more often and have a better life balance of the house things that need to be done but also MORE TIME for the big things like SPENDING QUALITY TIME WITH THE FAMILY.
THIS IS IT
I have decluttered a FEW times over the years, however I have NEVER TRULY decluttered fully and gotten rid of the things we do not use. I usually just put them in a cabinet, closet, or bin and then somehow all the items manage to reaccumulate and clutters things again.
I am sentimental, love to keep SO MANY things and realize “my version” of decluttering will still be WAY too much to a more traditional minimalist, but I am also okay with that.
After all, not one size fits all.
BUT, with how we are currently living with spending so much time on the weekend cleaning, trying to organize things, find items, and never keep up with just basic CLEANING —> I HAVE HAD IT, in a good way.

I am excited for a change and we have a few months until spring.
This is the time of year I have time to work on an indoor project and THIS IS IT.
Some rooms will go easier I am sure, I am DREADING doing our bedroom and closets, along the kids bedrooms and closets, but it’ll be worth it. I look forward to it all, even with it being hard.
As my son’s kindergarten teacher says and has them write, “We can do hard things”
Some decluttering and minimalism books I have read discuss progressing from living areas to bedrooms.
I AM CHOOSING NOT TO do it in that order, as previously it was not long lasting for me and want to try a new route. I want to take my time, but still have goals over these next 60 days.
Living areas, KITCHEN, bathrooms, THEN BEDROOMS, BASEMENT/STORAGE AREAS and etc.
I am going to work floor by floor, room by room to get this done.
Our bedrooms are all up on the 2nd floor so this will naturally match the order we will go in.
LETS GOOOOO, hope you follow along.
The kids are into it. I am BEYOND ready.
Love,
– Hope, a unapologetically (sentimental) mom to USED TO keep everything, accumulate way too much, however WANTS TO keep the things that make us happy and that we need, and spend less time searching for things, sorting things, CLEANING THINGS ALWAYS and being frustrated about having a messy house. THE HOUSE CAN BE CONQUERED, IT CAN be sorted, tamed and WE CAN instead MORE TIME ENJOYING OUR SWEET TIME AS A FAMILY
And who knows, maybe someday I can say I am SOMEWHAT minimalist ❤
